Breakfast with Santa

You’d better watch out! This Saturday, December 3, a very special guest will be appearing at the Westminster Civic Center to have breakfast with all the good boys and girls and their families. That’s right, jolly ole Saint Nicholas himself, aka Santa Claus, will be in Westminster for the Breakfast with Santa event starting at 9:00 AM. Santa will be there in person to bring joy to children’s hearts and to entertain one and all at this event full of traditional charm.

After visiting with Kris Kringle, a morning full of fun arts and crafts awaits for all participants. The cost for the event is $8.00 for both children and adults. This includes a delicious breakfast, craft materials, an individual visit with Santa Claus, and a stocking for each child in attendance. Don’t forget your camera; you won’t want to miss recording these wonderful holiday memories. All children need to be accompanied by an adult, and both the children and the adults must register for this event in order to participate.

Other holiday activities that are part of the City of Westminster’s season long celebration include the Tree Lighting Ceremony December 5 at 6:00 PM at the Civic Center Sunken Gardens, writing a letter to Santa and receiving a personal response, and the list of homes and businesses that are part of the Holiday Decorating Display in the Westminster area.

This Breakfast with Santa will take place at the City of Westminster Community Services Building in the East/West room. Old World German Christmas Market

Come out and enjoy the German Christmas Market on Sunday, November 27 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Old World Festival Hall and Beer Garden in Huntington Beach. Admission is only $5.00 per person, and 40 percent of every entrance fee is donated to the organization Child Rights and You America (CRY).

Be ready to enjoy some Christmas shopping stress free. Up to forty vendors will sell their arts and crafts creations inside the Banquet Hall and Beer Garden of the restaurant. In addition to the shopping, there will be opportunities to have your face painted in the décor of the season, to make your own crafts for Christmas, and to take pictures with Santa Claus. The Rockin Neptunes from Huntington Beach will provide live music from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at this event.

It wouldn’t be a festive German celebration without some great food, and this year’s event will not disappoint in that regard. At the German Christmas Market, you can enjoy many original specialties from Europe such as bratwurst, sauerkraut, stollen, original German cookies and pastries, German beer and wine, coffee and tea, hot chocolate, and the ever famous “Gluhwein” (red mulled wine). All of these and many other food specialties will be catered by the renowned kitchen of the Old World Restaurant.

Jackalope Arts & Crafts Fair

Next weekend, Saturday and Sunday November 12 and 13, Central Park in Old Pasadena will host the Jackalope Arts & Crafts Fair, an indie artisan market which will feature over 150 local artisans displaying high quality, locally handcrafted items. Local culture meets with the craft experience of this event, which is a unique shopping opportunity featuring the leading trendsetters and designers of goods in our local area. The fair begins at 10:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM.

Jackalope Arts’ mission is stated to be the creation of a curated shopping experience that makes available the highest quality goods which are handcrafted and sourced locally. This organization seeks to provide support for local artisans in the Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley area who have devoted their entire lives to these creations.
