BCWC Annual Craft Fair

October 20th, 2016

This Saturday, October 22, the Barber City Women’s Club of Westminster will be holding their annual craft fair. The event will take place at their clubhouse at 14046 Rancho Road in Westminster from 9 AM to 2 PM.

All of the crafts are made by hand and will include knitted and crocheted items, photographs, jewelry, cards, holiday decorations and much more! The BCWC craft fair provides an excellent opportunity to buy items for Halloween as well as thoughtful Christmas gifts.
A chili lunch will be available with all the trimmings, including cornbread and lemonade, for only five dollars per person! Delicious homemade baked goods, including cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and baked breads, will be for sale, all priced between just 1 and 5 dollars. Be sure to come out to this wonderful community event, your friends and neighbors will be there too so you can meet them here!

A non-profit organization which provides service to the community originally founded in 1927, The Barber City Women’s Club has been a member in good standing of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) for 86 years, since 1933. The club operates with the motto “We Live for Those Who Love Us and the Good We Can Do.” The BCWC is dedicated principally to the advancement and promotion of charitable, educational, philanthropic, cultural, and welfare activities in the Westminster and Orange County community and providing service to others. The club is both non-political and non-sectarian.

Among the many charities that have benefited from the programs of the Barber City Women’s Club are the Midway City’s American Family Housing shelter, the S.H.U.E Project (seniors mentoring primary grade students at Westminster’s senior center), the Veterans Hospital of Long Beach, The Pet Food Bank, the Interval House, Collette’s Children, and Nadine’s Patio. The club also raises money for three educational scholarships for young Westminster women to provide assistance for them to pursue their educational aspirations.

In addition to the craft fair, other ways of raising funds by the BCWC include monthly bunco on the third Friday of each month, their used book sale held each year, various fruit and bake Sales, a fall dinner, and by selling baked goods and hot drinks at the Westminster tree lighting event in December.

Westminster is a close knit community that cares about its people as evidenced by the good work being done by the Barber City Women’s Club and other similar organizations. Pacific Walk is a group of townhomes offered by The Olson Company which shares this same spirit of community pride. Visit our website today to learn more:
