Halloween: Pumpkin Carving & Costume Contest

October 27th, 2016

Get your spook on this Halloween!
Are you ready to get your spooky game face on? Surf city is putting out a call to all ghouls, ghosts and goblins this Saturday, October 29 for a pumpkin carving and Halloween costume contest. The event will take place in the City Gym and Pool at 1600 Palm Avenue in Huntington Beach. The contest will be inside the gymnasium starting at 6:00 PM and will end at 8:00 PM.

Come dressed in the scariest costume you can find and plan to transform a pumpkin into a lively jack-o-lantern! The cost is fifteen dollars per family, which includes a pumpkin, a safety carving kit, and delicious refreshments. Extra pumpkins are available to purchase for just five dollars each. Free parking is provided at the location.

Among the festivities that will be included are a ‘pick your own’ pumpkin patch and carving, a costume contest, fun games, a child friendly haunted house and much more! There will be a separate costume contest for both children and adults.

This is the fifth annual Halloween contest at the facility, as the first year for the event was 2012. The City Gym and Pool in Huntington Beach was first opened in 1931, and was originally called the Huntington Beach Elementary School Gymnasium and Plunge. The City Gym and Pool is on the US Department of the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places. This facility which is fully supervised offers swim lessons, cultural classes, basketball courts, check out of table games, ping-pong, and pool, and of course a wonderful swimming pool. The City Gym and Pool is open to the public with reservations required.

Don’t miss this special opportunity to celebrate fun times with the community. You may register online or also in person at the City Gym and Pool. For more information, call the City Gym and Pool at (714) 960-8884, or visit the event website:
