Chili at the Beach

June 9th, 2017

On Saturday, June 17, Huntington Beach kicks off Father’s Day weekend with the annual Chili at the Beach festival, the proceeds of which go to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley. Grab the kids and head down to Surf City for a daytrip to the beach, complete with samplings of the best chili the area has to offer!

This fun event runs from 11am to 5pm along Main Street and includes not only a chili cook off, but salsa samplings, vendors, live entertainment, and fun activities for all ages! In addition to all of this, there is also a silent Art Walk auction and fundraiser for anyone interested in exploring local artists’ works. Whether you’re there for the chili, the art, the family fun, or a chance to pick up a unique Father’s Day gift from a vendor, Chili at the Beach is one event you don’t want to miss.
Wondering who can cook up the best Chili in Huntington Beach? There are six award categories at the Chili at the Beach festival: both a judge’s and a people’s pick for “Best Chili” and “Best Salsa,” an award for “Most Enthusiastic Booth” and “Chillin’ Chili Booth.” Chili and Salsa sampling, as well as a say in who wins the people’s choice awards, is only $15 on the day of the event, or $10 if you reserve your spot in advance.

In addition to a day of good food and good fun, in attending the Chili at the Beach festival you can rest assured that you’re supporting a good cause. The festival is run in support of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley, an organization which provides childcare and networks of support for school-aged children in the Huntington Valley area, helping them to achieve their full potential in life.
