Mr. Laurie joined The Olson Company in 2007 and oversees the organization’s administrative and operating groups including strategic planning, acquisition, finance, construction, legal, and human resources. Olson is one of the largest private builders in California with a primary focus on affordable, transit-oriented, urban, infill housing in partnership with cities and municipalities. The Olson Company is currently ranked #67 amongst United States homebuilders based on revenues.
A 14 year veteran of the homebuilding industry, Mr. Laurie was previously with KB Home for 9 years, holding various Executive positions at both the Corporate and Divisional levels. During his tenure he was responsible for the acquisition, development, construction and sales of over 7,500 homes. As President of the Inland Valley Division, Mr. Laurie received the prestigious KB Home Chairman’s award as the #1 operating Division in the United States.
Mr. Laurie has served on the Executive Board of the BIA Baldy View and is a recipient of the Building Company of the Year honor in 2005 and Builder of the Year in 2006; he currently serves in an advisory capacity with the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate and is also a member of ULI and BIA. Mr. Laurie is on the USC Norris Institute Board of Directors and the Cedars Sinai Board of Governors and is involved with other philanthropic organizations.
A native of Southern California and resident of Santa Monica, Mr. Laurie earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California, Urban Planning and Development.
